Take the Pledge: Will You #StopTheWaste?

Global hunger isn’t about a lack of food. Right now, enough food is produced globally to feed the world’s entire population — but more than 800 million people still go to bed hungry each night. Along with conflict, gender inequality, climate change and COVID-19, food waste is a major cause of hunger worldwide.

Nearly one-third of all food produced each year is lost or wasted. That is $1 trillion dollars’ worth of wasted food every year that could be going towards feeding hungry people.

This fall, the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) led coalition efforts through the United Nations Food Systems Summit to #StopTheWaste and build more inclusive, sustainable food systems. Reducing food waste and loss is key to ending global hunger, and every person can be part of the solution. Pledge your support now to help the U.N. World Food Programme stop food waste and feed hungry people around the world.
